Safety Codes Services
- Processing building, gas, electrical, plumbing and private sewage permit applications
- Providing Safety Codes inspection services
- Maintaining a Quality Management Plan with the Alberta Safety Codes Council
- Annual Safety Codes audit
- Providing access to and training for eSite for Safety Codes electronic records
Planning Services
- Preparing and amending statutory plans and land use bylaws, rezoning applications
- Other planning and research related projects
- Providing direct assistance to municipal staff on planning and development matters
- Providing templates and training related to planning and development, including issuing development permits, land use bylaw enforcement, issuing letters of compliance, dealing with encroachments, public hearings and bylaw adoption procedures
- Municipal Planning Commission orientation and attending MPC meetings
- New Council Orientations
- Coordinating an Intermunicipal Subdivision and Development Appeal Board and training
- Assistance enacting updates to the Municipal Government Act or other municipal legislation/regulations
- Providing access to eSite for development permit electronic record keeping and processing
GIS Services
- Provides access to and training for webmap services
- Maintains two separate maps for public and municipal purposes
- Civic addressing representation on the Alberta Municipal Data Sharing Partnership
- Assistance with webmap-based asset management, including a mobile app and field data collection and training
- Coordinating regional GIS initiatives and accessing GIS-related grants
Subdivision Services
- Processing subdivision applications for approval and endorsement, including issuing notices, circulations and referrals, and presentations to the Subdivision Authority
- Providing advice on subdivision processes and applications to municipalities and prospective applicants
